Gainford makes Camino history

Gainford in the Durham Dales, the starting point of the Way of Life on the Northern Saints Trail, has also become part of the Camino Inglés. As of 10 October, it is officially recognised as an accredited section of the Camino Inglés, allowing pilgrims to follow this route all the way to the Cathedral of Santiago on the Camino de Compostela.

Journey of faith and reflection along the Northern Saints trail

This past week, a diverse group of pilgrims set out on a four-day pilgrimage along The Way of Life, one of the Northern Saints Trails crossing County Durham. The event, named The Pilgrimage of Hope, was organised in collaboration with The Auckland Project, GATHER Church Teesdale, the Camino Ingles, and local artists.

Eggleston Agricultural Show: a community comes together

On Saturday 15th September, the annual Eggleston Agricultural Show, the last large agricultural gathering in the Dales, brought together locals, farmers and faith groups in a celebration of community spirit. Among the many stands were the churches from the old Barnard Castle Deanery and The Methodist Circuit, who partnered once again to ‘man’ a shared stand.

Church-aided advice service continues to help people struggling with debt
