The Diocese of Durham is seeking a Priest in Charge for Belmont & Pittington.
We are looking for an exceptional priest-in-charge for this benefice. The parishes are on the edge of Durham City, with two church buildings, one set in the suburb of Belmont and the other in the village of Pittington. Belmont is less than two miles from Durham City Centre.
Both churches have active lay involvement, well maintained buildings, and a commitment to build for the future. This role requires someone who can encourage and envision the congregations in that commitment and help them to turn it into reality.
Durham is a large and varied deanery with good lay involvement and experienced clergy colleagues - in parishes, at the university and in a range of chaplaincies.
The Diocese of Durham is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. You can read the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy here.
