The Acting Bishop of Durham is looking to appoint the Archdeacon of Sunderland.
This is an exciting opportunity for a courageous and creative spiritual leader to serve in Durham Diocese, supporting parishes and chaplaincies to develop ministry and mission in the context of our Diocesan Transformation Programme.
The Archdeacon of Sunderland will be a mission-minded strategic thinker, with a nurturing heart, committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the growth of God’s church. Serving across urban centres, post-industrial landscapes and rural communities, they will be able to lead with spiritual maturity and sensitivity, encouraging all towards transformation and fruitfulness.
Could God be calling you to this key senior leadership role within the Diocese of Durham?
An informal conversation with the Archdeacon of Durham, the Venerable Libby Wilkinson, is encouraged. Please contact kate.martin@durham.anglican.org to arrange.
Closing date: 22 April 2025 at noon
