The Archbishop of York recently hosted an event with ordinands and clergy of global-majority heritage or UK minority-ethnic in the Northern Province at Bishopthorpe Palace on Friday 24th May 2024 - a historic first of such an event.
Durham Diocese was represented by Revd Steve Muneza - Burundian heritage; Revd Canon Eileen Harrop - Singaporean Chinese heritage; Revd Mahalha Wachepa - Malawan heritage; and Revd Grace Aciro - Ugandan heritage.
There was exciting intercultural worship and conversation led by Bishops Arun Arora and Smitha Prasadam, and preaching by Bishop John Prelembulath.
