Churches from across the Diocese came together this week to pray for transformation and growth across our parishes and deaneries.
Over 60 people from across the Diocese met in All Saints Church, Newton Hall in Durham in unity, and with intent to worship and pray over the Diocese for its transformation and growth.
The evening included many forms of prayer, from scripture based, contemplative, prayer stations and prayer ministry with each other, led by the three Archdeacons and the Diocesan Growing Churches Team.
The worship for the evening was led by a team drawn from three different churches, with songs that lifted the prayers in spirit. Time was given to praying over the opportunities and barriers to growth in each deanery, using images and key words.
We were inspired and challenged to go out and bear witness to the Risen Saviour Jesus ourselves, with our family and friends, and in our daily work and life, praying in earnest for the love of God to spread across our Diocese. We know that it is only through prayer and the Holy Spirit at work that our Transformation vision will bear fruit, so we continue to pray and keep prayer at the heart of all we do as a Diocese. Please join us in this prayer!
