EMERGENCY REPAIRS ONLY WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Following the ‘lockdown’ instruction from the Prime Minister and the latest guidance from the Government , the Chief Medical Officer and Public Health England, we will only be undertaking emergency repairs with immediate effect.

In line with government advice to cease non-essential travel and interaction, we have stopped face-to-face contact and moved to only digital and telephone communication. 

Our customers are reminded that: 

When visiting your home to carry out emergency repairs, if you are self-isolating operatives will wear additional personal protective equipment, and will ask you to unlock the door and remain in a separate room to where the repair needs to be done.  A list of our on-call contractors can be found on the attached guide.

All planned works, including refurbishment works for ingoing clergy/tenanted properties are postponed until a safer time. 

If our on-call contractors need to visit your home to undertake an emergency repair we will ask you:

Have you tested positive for Coronavirus COVID-19

Are you currently self-isolating

Are you showing any symptoms, such as a new continuous cough or high temperature

Is someone within the household in the vulnerable or elderly categories as defined by the latest Government advice.

Please be assured we are working hard to ensure we continue to provide you with an emergency repairs service whilst also playing our part in a national effort to protect public health and wellbeing.

Break – In/ Vandalism:
Contact local police station who will be able to arrange a joiner/glazier to carry out emergency boarding up or repair or any local reputable contractor may be contacted.

Burst Pipes:
In the event of a burst pipe turn off the water at the mains, Contact a reputable plumber

Broken Locks:
Any local reputable contractor/locksmith, and then notify the diocese the next working day.
