Sunday 18th April 2021 7pm Online Easter special
Join us on Facebook and invite your churches to watch too! https://www.facebook.com/durhampulse
As always it will feature contributions from young people across the Diocese and what we need is some responses to any or all of the following questions 1. What has been hard about the last year? 2. How has your faith / God helped you through the year? 3. What are your hopes for your church / the church going into the future? I would need these by Mon 12 April at latest either as short videos (preferably) or as script for the camera shy! Email: [email protected]
Sunday 11th July 2021 pm Archdeaconry Games (at Brancepeth Castle)
The Pulse is a termly youth gathering for young people (school years 7-13) organised by Durham Diocese. Each event is different; it is usually based in Durham Cathedral but not always. The purpose is for youth groups to come together in larger numbers than their weekly meetings, to have fun, to explore faith in a variety of different ways and to worship God together. Events and activities have included a pilgrimage across the sands to Holy Island, magician and comedian John Archer, the world’s largest escape room, a gospel choir, big games, prayer spaces, testimony, Archdeaconry Youth Games at Brancepeth Castle, a juggler, youth worship groups from around the diocese, a Taize service, Gladiator challenges with ‘Ace’ (Warren Furman) and a party with DJ Sean Pickering in the Monk’s Garden at the cathedral.
At the moment The Pulse ‘normal’ is on pause due to Covid restrictions, but we are hoping to be back up and running in 2021. One of the events we had to cancel was the Youth Pilgrimage in June to Holy Island. So I just went by myself …
