Interim Minister Priest in Charge Upper Weardale & Diocesan Rural Ministry Lead

The Diocese of Durham is seeking an Interim Minister Priest in Charge of the Benefice of Upper Weardale and Diocesan Rural Ministry Lead.

We seek someone who loves rural mission and ministry. You will help the three parishes of the Benefice – West Weardale, Eastgate, and Stanhope with Frosterley and Rookhope – to continue to develop good rural mission. You will also draw together and lead a diocesan task group to work with you to discern and share good practice in missional rural ministry across the diocese.

The right candidate will understand and value both inherited and innovative approaches to mission and ministry, be determinedly collaborative, and relish the challenge of reimagining mission and ministry in this rural setting and across the Diocese.

The post is offered on an Interim basis for three years, with the potential of an extension of a further three year term.
