Priest in Charge of Easington, Easington Colliery and Hawthorn

The Acting Bishop of Durham invites applications for the position of Priest in Charge for the parishes of Easington, Easington Colliery and Hawthorn.

The three East Durham parishes are receptive to change and development, while being fairly ‘central’ in their worship tradition.  There is a strong track record of challenging poverty, offering opportunities to explore faith and engaging with local schools.  These are strong foundations for the next incumbent to build upon.

While there are challenges in the community and church, there are significant opportunities for the next Priest in Charge to work with a supportive church, deanery and alongside central diocesan teams.  If you have a passion for mission and are ready to work with children and young people could you join us?

The rectory is a modern, 4-bedroom property situated in Easington Village, with a Church of England primary school and Easington Academy secondary school within 5 minutes walk.
