120 young people from across Durham Diocese gathered for The Pulse at Durham Cathedral on 26th March. This was the follow-up to the first youth event in the Galilee Chapel in October.

We were treated to great music from the youth band from St John’s Church in Hebburn, played some big games together, heard amazing stories from Bethany McNeeley from Norton and Pouya Heidari from Cranmer Hall and had the space to pray. This was all within the incredible setting of Durham Cathedral.

One of the main purposes of the termly event is to gather young people together from churches around the area. Over 20 different churches were represented from Burnmoor, Chester-le-Street, Darlington, Durham City, Gateshead, Greenside & Ryton, Hebburn, Monkwearmouth, Newton Aycliffe, Norton, Pelton, Sherburn, Shildon, Shotton,  Wheatley Hill and Wingate. One church brought 16 young people (St John’s in Shildon) and other churches came with much smaller groups.

The next Pulse event is on Sunday July 9th – more details to follow shortly.
