Vacancy – Head of Finance & ICT

The Diocese of Durham is one of 42 dioceses within the Church of England with a substantial annual budget in excess of £11m and balance sheet of £66m.  This role offers an exciting opportunity to directly influence and strengthen the financial stability and sustainability of the diocese to ensure its work continues.

You will work closely with a wide range of individuals and institutions, both within and outside of the diocese and will be responsible for leading and developing the finance team.  In close co-operation with the Diocesan Secretary, you will ensure the key financial issues confronting the diocese are addressed and will also deputise for the Diocesan Secretary as required.

ACCOUNTABLE TO:  Diocesan Secretary

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  Finance Manager and direct reports (two Finance Officers and one Project Finance Officer) | Diocesan Parish Giving Champion and direct reports (Finance Resource Co-ordinator)

SALARY:  Starting salary of £52,500

HOURS:  28-35 hours/week
(There is some flexibility in the hours required for the role and the weekly working pattern)
