Background to both roles

Having spent some time developing our work with children and families in Pennywell during school times and holiday breaks, we seek to enhance our work by ensuring there is a common link with all who serve Pennywell in health, education, social care and Church to give the best service to the community there and through offering opportunities for all, to enhance potential, develop skills and gain experiences which will help develop positive lives for all members of that community.  We are looking to host and share development with other organisations for developing cooking, childcare, play, creative and health through training opportunities and are looking to develop opportunities to reduce food, clothing and uniform waste by sharing and recycling.  We seek to help people find and develop their gifts and interests into helping develop their own lives and community.  We are keen to combat reduced potential through lack of self esteem and the ensuing mental health problems as well as social isolation and the sense of hopelessness that chaos that often emerges.

Our foundational aims are:

  • To grow a faith community ensuring all people are working together towards the common goal of serving and sharing.
  • To enable members of the community to develop their aspirations.
  • To enable members of the community to grow and develop their lives to be more sustainable through healthier and safer choices.
  • To enable all to feel part of a community and knowing themselves as an integral part of the work and worship of the Church there.

If you feel you could join us here in Pennywell to help further our aims and seek to serve God in this place, please contact in the first instance The Rev’d Katherine Bagnall, 0191 5283754 or revkjbagnall@gmail.com for more information, a Job Description and application form.
