Sweet success for church team
Success tastes sweet for children and families in Crook, who have won a competition to create the best gingerbread nativity.
In November 2013, children and families at St. Catherine’s in Crook made and decorated a gingerbread nativity. The team’s creation was part of Churches Together in Crook’s crib festival.
It was entered into the Bible Reading Fellowship competition, which ran the competition to promote Renita Boyle’s Gingerbread Nativity book. Now, the team has been told that it has won.
Lisa Tacon ( St Catherine’s children’s leader) said: “We are very pleased that we won the competition, thanks to the artistic and decorative skills used by our children.
“It was a real team effort with myself making the gingerbread, and another adult baking it then the children and families worked hard to complete the project.
“We have won £75 of book vouchers to be spent at BRF online. We plan to use these to increase our children’s resources.”
