Year 6 students at the Church of England Schools in the Durham Diocese celebrated their journey to Secondary School at special services held in Durham Cathedral this week.
Six annual School Leavers services organised by the Durham Diocesan Board of Education took place in the Cathedral over several days and each day the Cathedral was packed with excited children.

Among schools giving performances or leading prayers were Holy Trinity (Rose Hill) C of E Aided Primary – Stockton, St Oswald’s C of E Primary – Hebburn, Cleves Cross Primary – Ferryhill, Shincliffe C of E Primary – Durham and Blackhall Primary – Blackhall Colliery.
Students from Cockerton C of E Primary School in Darlington made up the choir.
