Prayer for the Nation was a month-long prayer campaign, initiated by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, with support from other senior church leaders, inviting Christians and all people of goodwill, to pray for England during the second Lockdown throughout November.

The month of prayer united thousands of Christians in prayer following a daily prayer focus repeated weekly, with a daily collective moment of prayer at 6pm each evening.

Prayer themes included praying for the Elderly, Isolated and Bereaved; Businesses and economic wellbeing; Children and young people and educational establishments and local and national governments.

Senior church leaders including the presidents of Churches Together in England and Pete Greig, Founder of 24-7 Prayer supported the initiative along with several organisations including Hope Together and 24-7 Prayer GB.

Christians in other parts of the world such as New Zealand, Australia and America joined in prayer with several praying for their own countries during this time, such as the diocese of Colombo, Sri Lanka who organised their own time of prayer.

The campaign was endorsed by the Royal Family on social media and received media coverage in a number of outlets including the Times, Good Morning Britain and Church Times.
