The Diocese of Durham Newsroom service today (Friday 11th October) announced that users can now directly submit news for inclusion in the newsroom. Keith Blundy, Communication Adviser for the Diocese of Durham said: “The launch of our news submission service via our web-app on mobile and desktop computers is going to allow parishes and churches across the diocese to be able submit their own news stories, events and information that might be of interest to the growing community of followers of the service through the daily electronic news paper 3DN.” Launched in June 2013, the Diocesan Newsroom service http://newsroom.durhamdiocese.net is a portal for all of the news from the Church of England Diocese of Durham. The service was originally setup to be focused on providing news to media outlets but has has rapidly grown in popularity with people in parishes across the diocese and beyond. The diocese launched a daily electronic newspaper The Durham Diocese Daily News back in May 2013 called 3DN http://3dn.durhamdiocese.net the paper provides a round up of news from the diocese and discussion on religion and faith relevant to communities in the North East. The 3DN is distributed by subscription and is an integral part of the Newsroom service. Keith Blundy said: “We have been delighted by the uptake by users of both 3DN and the Newsroom, but increasingly Parishes and Church have been asking how they could feature their own news directly in both. With the launch of the Web App and upload facility – that has now become a reality. Users wishing to submit news / events / stories for possible inclusion in the Newsroom can use the web-app http://myapp.is/DDNewsroom on their smart phone or tablet or they can access the submission form directly from the newsroom service.” To submit your news please visit this link.
