    ‘Early Advent’ is an opportunity for clergy and lay minsters who will be leading worship and teaching the Faith during Advent, to come aside to be resourced and refreshed themselves.

    Canon Rosalind Brown, recently retired as Nave Canon from Durham Cathedral, will offer some input both on Advent Themes and on specific passages of Scripture set for Advent. Rosalind was for some time a weekly columnist in the Church Times offering exegesis and ideas for the next Sunday’s passages. This is our chance to hear Rosalind speak herself as she both introduces broad Advent themes and also helps us to reflect on specific Bible passages. {So please bring a Bible!}

    The morning will begin with Morning Prayer in our Cathedral @ 8.45 or refreshments @ 9.15, in Prior’s Hall, with two addresses and much space for quiet prayer in the Cathedral and its grounds. The morning will finish as we join in the 12.30 Eucharist in our Cathedral. Do then stay on for lunch in the Undercroft or one of Durham’s many cafés and enjoy some further space and relaxation.

    Car Parking is available in one of Durham’s many car parks. If you need access to a disabled car parking space, please let us know.

    There is no charge for ‘Early Advent’ but please book in with Kate Martin our Events Co-Ordinator on kate.martin@durham.anglican.org or 0191 374 6017 so we have a good idea of numbers.

    With prayer
