An ecumenical event in Durham will see a Parish Hall open for a number of COP26 themed activities in light of the upcoming climate conference.

St Edmund’s Church, Sedgefield, will also host part of the 6 November event, dubbed ‘Café COP – Caring for Creation’. It will run between 10am-12pm.

The event will feature a stall serving fair-trade refreshments and home-made cakes, with people encouraged to ‘pay as [they] feel’.

Sedgefield Area Churches Together are also holding other activities, hosted between St Edmund’s and the Parish Hall; including a low-carbon and recycled craft station, information session on climate change, a fair-trade stall and talks from the Durham Wildlife Trust and Sedgefield Woodland & Wildlife group.

Money raised from the event will go towards the Climate Stewards charity and a ‘Carols in the Car-Park’ event this December.
