Bishop Paul makes his maiden speech in the House of Lords on Tuesday 10th June

Bishop Paul, is currently in Rome at the ‘Extra Ordinary Synod’ which many media commentators have reported as a very rare and potentially pivotal gathering of Catholic Bishops in the history of the Catholic Church. This Synod, only the third time such a gathering has been called since the creation of the Catholic Churches ‘Synod of Bishops’ in 1965.

Bishop Paul, who is representing the Church of England, has taken to his blog to reflect on the gathering. Each of his blog posts from Rome can be found here.

Bishop Paul has also been interviewed for the Catholic News Service were they reported: “Anglican Bishop Paul Butler of Durham, England, and “fraternal delegates” from seven other Christian communities addressed the synod Oct. 10. Bishop Butler also spoke to Vatican Radio Oct. 15 as synod members worked in small groups to amend the assembly’s midterm report.” The full report can be read here. Bishop Paul was also interviewed by Vatican Radio – and it can be heard here.
